Silver Medal of the 2025 Lépine Competition
The story of DUOH!, our new nursing pillow, began with constructive discussions with our community. Nearly a year and a half ago, several customers who were fans of our creations told us about a specific need: a nursing pillow that was more practical and less bulky than existing models. This request marked the beginning of a project that led us to the Concours Lépine, where we had the immense joy of receiving a silver medal for DUOH!.
To start this project, a year and a half ago, we began by researching breastfeeding, particularly through reading the " Highly Illustrated Breastfeeding Manual ," a clear resource full of practical advice for expectant mothers.
Then, we choose to collaborate with a pediatric nurse qualified in human lactation and breastfeeding. Together, we define specifications focused on three main objectives: optimizing the relaxation of the adult's upper body during breastfeeding, designing a cushion that is intuitive to use , and significantly reducing its volume to facilitate its transport .
Several months of development and prototyping followed. We conducted numerous tests, first with babies to assess the ergonomics , then with mothers who agreed to test our cushion with their babies. Their feedback was crucial for the evolution of the product.
After about six months, we arrived at a definitive shape for this new nursing pillow. We achieved our goals, and even identified additional uses: bottle feeding , making it usable by other family members (spouse, grandparents, siblings), and a compact size ideal for travel, including on public transport (train, plane, bus, stationary car).
The original design of this cushion allows us to file a patent for invention in July 2024. An approach which gives rise to the idea of a second participation in the Lépine Competition .
A long period of preparation followed, devoted to the development of an attractive stand and the logistical organization necessary for our twelve-day presence at the Paris Fair .
From April 30th, we are presenting our new cushion in the Concours Lépine space. The reception from visitors and early childhood professionals (midwives, pediatric nurses, childminders) has been very positive .
Finally, the awards ceremony arrives on Friday, May 8, 2025. Out of 250 competing inventions, 48 are rewarded, and DUOH! has the honor of receiving a silver medal!
We welcome this distinction with joy and pride. It validates the relevance of our cushion and underlines the innovative character of Petits Cadors , while recognizing our expertise in the design of comfort cushions.
Above all, we hope that this new cushion will be of service to many parents and give mothers back their freedom! For us, that will remain the greatest reward! 😊
